What is a non-diagnostic ultrasound?
|
A non-diagnostic Ultrasound is a way to provide a positive bonding experience for
mother, father, family members and friends to their new little one. Our elective
2D, 3D & 4D prenatal Ultrasounds provide a realistic image of baby that gives a
special connection between the parents and baby that can be beneficial to the whole family.

- Are there any requirements before my 3D Scan?
|
We ask that you are under a physicians care and have had or are planning to have a
diagnostic ultrasound exam performed at your Doctors office. Wonderful as it may be,
the 3D scan is not considered a substitute for the 2D, diagnostic ultrasound exam.

- How far along should I be before I have a 3D/4D experience?
|
A Baby Vision Ultrasound can be done at any stage of the pregnancy so it is really up
to the mom - many mothers enjoy seeing their baby grow and change. Gender Determination
is usually determined at about 14 weeks. In order to see the entire body of the baby
in one picture you will need to come in between 18-22 weeks. As the pregnancy
progresses and the baby develops more fat you will see full facial (expressions included)
images. If you are going to only have one non-diagnostic ultrasound done we
find that most moms prefer to come in between 26-32 weeks while the baby is too
large to see everything in one picture, this is when we get the best views of the
face and perfect pictures of the hands and feet.

- What influences the quality of the pictures?
- Position: The position of the baby determines your view. If your baby faces the camera,
it is a big help, however not all babies like to pose for 4D Ultrasound pictures at
this young age. All babies love to cuddle and most of the time their hands are near
their face or even sucking their thumbs these poses make adorable pictures!
- Fluid: The amount of amniotic fluid is extremely important to the quality of your
pictures. Drinking the amount of water your physician recommends (64oz per day) for
several weeks prior to your experience will ensure the best pictures
- If we do not get any pictures of your baby, you can use are Redo option and come back In for
only $25 dollars

- Is it safe for baby and mother?
|
Ultrasound has been used safely in obstetrics for over 35 years. In the 35 years
of use in medicine, there has never been a harmful effect shown by the use of ultrasound
in humans. Most women have multiple ultrasounds during their pregnancy with no negative
effect on the baby. In 3D/4D scanning, exactly the same type and intensity of ultrasound
is used as with conventional 2D scanning.

- Are there any other helpful hints to improve our Baby Vision 3D/4D experience?
|
Drinking a small amount of caffeine or eating some type of sugar 20 minutes prior
to your session may stimulate your baby. The most important information is to pay
attention to your baby and try to schedule a time around your babys schedule:
For example - If it moves before or after eating or drinking or is active at a certain
time most days. Moms having twins should come in before 27 weeks for full development
pictures and 16-18 weeks for pitures of the babies together. Heavier set or more
full-figured mothers should come in around 32-35 weeks.

- Can you tell me the sex of my baby?
|
Virtually 100% of the time we can, though very occasionally the position of the
baby doesnt allow us. We will make this determination as part of any scan,
if requested. Of course, if you prefer not to know, we will provide no clues
and can still get great pictures of your little one. If baby is not in the correct
position for gender determination you are always welcome to come back at another
time at no charge.

- Can I bring my family and friends to watch?
|
Yes. In fact, we encourage you to invite family and friends to attend this wonderful
bonding experience. It is a great way for siblings to understand that there is really
a baby in there and prepares them in a realistic and not-threatening way for the
change coming in their lives. Extended family and friends benefit from the experience
as well, increasing the family support system. Scientific studies show that the 3D/4D
imaging increases maternal and fetal bonding at a higher level that 2d. (Effects of
Ultrasound on maternal-fetal bonding: 2D vs. 3D:D.H. Pretorius, K.M. Uyan, R. Neton, A. Hull,
